ADVERTISING

Like every advertising consultancy agency that carries the full-service banner, were tempted to say we have done it all. But our team has been around long enough to know better. The communications landscape changes about as quickly as the weather. Something totally new is always popping up. (New Media, anyone?) So instead of basing our value on past accomplishments, we prefer to face forward and say that by combining our expansive experience with our highly collaborative nature, we can do it all.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

The objective of this area is to study both function and form, and the connection between product and the user - product as it happens in any other architecture area, being the only difference, that here the professionals that participate in the process are all specialized in small scale design, rather than in other massive colossal equipment like buildings or ships. Architects do not design the gears or motors that make machines move, or the circuits that control the movement (that task is usually attributed to engineers), but they can affect technical aspects through usability design and form relationships. And usually, they partner a whole of other professionals like marketers, to identify and fulfill needs, wants and expectations.

IDENTITIES

“Identities” is the unique character of a group or a brand combination of reputation, name, culture, manner and values. Identity design represents these qualities and in doing so adds something to them. The identity designer has to become intricately involved in the group or brand in order to understand and thus influence its presented image.

MARKS

Marks appear as pictorial or abstract symbols, name or letterform logotypes, amalgamated or connected letter monograms on labels or mastheads, TV screens or letterheads, books or building signs. All marks must be unique, appropriate and relevant. So they have to be designed. To be anonymous in a competitive world is to be dead.

PRODUCTS

Products are conceived by designer who combines the role of engineer, craftsman, artist and marketer. The ambition is to design for function with appropriate style. The procedure is to design for manufacture, distribution and storage, for price, in-store impact, aesthetics and material quality. All the time the designer also looks for connections that can produce surprises and new ideas.

PACKAGING

Packaging is brand identity design at the sharp end the art of promising and being believed. It represents the virtues and appeal of a product, according to the well-researched tastes and aspirations of the consumer. Shape, material and mechanics become one with graphics to compete for attention, identify the product and sell its qualities

EDITORIAL

Editorial design sets the tone and expresses the personality, with the designer commissioning the visuals and executing the layout and readability of editorial pages, often handling over to an in-house team for the regular work once the design has been developed. Journalism is the given material. Editors and art directors are the clients. And readers determine success or failure.

INTERACTIVE

Interactive design includes electronic signs and displays, movie and video graphics, and websites the new media. It is essentially the marriage of graphic design and animation executed on computer, with an appreciation of technical constraints and an understanding of all the possibilities of technology. But technology is always the servant, never the master.
